I had my check up about my eye on Friday and it is all okay! My wonderful surgeon is really happy with it and I finally look normal (well as normal as I can). I shouldn't have to have any more surgery for at least 10 years and best of all I should be able to wear contact lenses again. This is something I am really happy about. I have prescription sunglasses but I am always worried I am going to lose them or break them or something, to be able to just chuck on a pair of cheap ones when we are out geocaching or mucking about on holiday will be brilliant.
I did my first progress test for my AAT and it came back marked well, I am now booked in for my first exam on 22/2/12. This is Thinking Day for us Guides and I will be wearing my uniform with pride to my exam. I am hoping that it will be a good omen to have it on that day as I am a bit nervous as it will be the first formal exam I have taken for 20 years.
I have finished another quilt. This one is for my niece Shelley, she wanted a brightly coloured one so I found the most colourful jelly roll I could and went for it! I have backed it in fleece which was a new process for me and I really liked using it. It makes the quilt all snuggly and warm for her.
My lovely K is turning into a teenager quicker than lightning. She is not 13 until April, but I am getting the full range of emotions at the moment, she can blow from full blown anger to complete happiness and laughing her head off in about 30 seconds. I have been told that I don't understand what it is like to be young, that I have no idea about anything and I get a lot of eye rolling and 'MUM!' said with a sigh. It is great fun...honest. I stand sometimes and I can see so much of myself in her it is scary, I can also see a lot of my Mum in me and that is really scary! We are very close and the anger and temper fade as quickly as they rise, and my girl is back, making me a cup of tea or pulling my leg about my age, my taste or my lack of knowledge of everything. Oh to be young again!
