Happy new year one and all!
I had such a busy December, what with Carol Services, Midnight Masses, Cooking, Wrapping, 3 parties on successive weekends, Work, Guides and general living I did not have a moment to blog.
I have been continuing to enjoy my quilting, I finished lap quilts each for my Mum and dad, I forgot to take photos but I will when I am next over. Dads was in Christmas material of red and green with snowmen on it and backed and bound with a cream fabric sprinkled in holly leaves, I used 4 different materials in a rail fence pattern and it was really effective.
Mum’s is in shades of purple and cream and is put together in a block called ‘Oh Susanna’ (I love the names of quilting blocks!) I really enjoyed doing this even though I still have difficulty with getting my points to match up. They are getting better and I am sure in time it will all match up beautifully.
I made 3 cushion covers for Al's mum for Christmas, I couldn't post pictures before as I know she reads this, so here you are, it is also my first attempt at FMQ
I also made a table runner for my manager at work. I really enjoyed making this as it was something totally new.
During the Christmas break we all went to a friend’s house for dinner, now she just happens to run a small on-line quilting shop from her house. I was in my element looking at all the fabrics and jelly rolls she had. She is very very reasonably priced too, so I know where I am going for all my fabric now! Have a look for yourself it is called The Quilted Chameleon. She has helped me to sort out how to finish my bindings so they look neat and I must say it has really helped. Thank you Vicky xx
I am now making my first baby quilt, my friend at work is due in June and I am doing a multicoloured quilt for her and I will hold off binding until I know if she has a boy or a girl. It is so nice to make stuff for others! I know that sounds very twee but it is true.
I had some lovely sewing gifts for Christmas too, I will post more about those later.
Have a good 2012 :)

Happy New Year. I think your days must have more than 24 hours in them for you to achieve so much! Love the cushion cover - look forward to seeing photos of the quilts.
Happy (and busy) new year !
Ooh - I have been quilting too but am not very good at it.. It also takes me AGES so I am very impressed with your productivity! I love the cushion too.
