October's ramblings

Well what can I say, it has been a busy month. We took the Guides away for the weekend at the beginning of September. We had a lovely time with them and they all behaved beautifully. We completed the Music Zone badge during the weekend. I love taking the girls away, yes all the preparation does tend to take over space in the flat but it is so worth it when we are all sat round a campfire singing. No matter what happens, the sound of 25 girls singing Barges and Land of the Silver Birch never ever fails to bring a lump to my throat. We were lucky enough to be able to visit Whipsnade Zoo while we were away and I was so proud of all of them. I place a lot of trust in my girls, so they are able to go off in small groups of 3 or more and not have to have a leader with them while they looked round and every single on of them was as good as gold.

There is another reason I have not been here much, I have discovered the joy of quilting, now with that, along with my cross stitch and weekend baking, I just don't have enough hours in the day. Al apparently loves the fact that I am quilting as it keeps me quiet and I stop nagging. Me, nag, NEVER! Here is a picture of the first quilt I have made.

My weightloss is still going brilliantly, I have now lost 41lb which is just 1lb short of 3 stone. I still have a long way to go but people are really noticing now. I have dropped from a size 22-24 to a size 18 and I feel brilliant. I have started doing Jazzercise instead of Zumba as it is on a better night for me and I have great fun. K and Al are so proud of me and to be honest I am proud of myself .

We are off to Milton Keynes on Sunday, it is Trafalgar Day and K is in a big district Sea Cadet Parade. I will no doubt have a little moment as she marches past. She looks so grown up and smart in her 'blues', my little girl truly is gone for ever.See you next month!
