Bad Sunday...Bad!

I am a big fan of autumn this year, it is just lovely out there.  There is that slight bite in the mornings and this morning there was a little frost.  It then glows all day with that lovely autumny haze and then it is cold enough at night to close the curtains and snuggle down for the evening.

K was in the Trafalgar Day Parade in Milton Keynes on Sunday and they could not have picked a lovelier day for it. the sun was out but it was not too hot and all the Cadets looked marvellous in their pressed uniforms and shiny boots.  It was a long day and my girl was knackered by the end of it, the air rifle gets very heavy but she is so proud and I think she looked marvellous.

K is in the middle with TS Broadsword on her cap ribbon.

Sun is in her eyes and my girl is shattered.
Sunday for me was not a good day though.  The gas man came for the 3rd time to try to find out what was wrong with the boiler but it would be another day before it was fixed, therefore we had no hot water or heating.  I washed a quilt after finishing it and realised I had forgotten to wash the bright red backing fabric so my beautiful red, green and cream Christmas quilt is now pink and has been relegated to a table cloth or may even be relegated to the charity bag.  We were then late for K's parade as I got the times mixed up and we only saw her parade out of church instead of parading in as well.  Then to top it all I made coffee and walnut cup cakes for Al's mum, overloaded the cases so they looked like demented muffins, all in all it was a disaster from sun up to sun down.

At least now the heating is fixed (touch wood) the cakes tasted good apparently and we did see K parade, it is just the quilt that is not rescuable, but never mind, worse things happen at sea....

They are air rifles, all with safety catches and no pellets. K does shooting through Sea Cadets too.
