Last week was lovely, Al and I had a couple of days off together to recharge our batteries and just chill. We went to Oxford and looked round the Ashmolean Museum which was lovely, we had a nice lunch and then just a wander round the city centre. Al took some great photos and we did a couple of geocaches and some waymarking, all in all it was really nice.
Friday we picked up K's new bike, got my new phone which I love and went to the new Go Outdoors shop in Bedford. It is huge! I could spend a fortune in there and not even blink, it has everything you could possibly need for camping and general outdoorsy stuff.
Saturday was weigh in and I lost a whopping 4lb! This means I have lost 26lb and when I put my new weight in on-line I got my a lovely bouncing 25lb star going across my screen. My meeting leader Emily has said that if I take the printout of my weight losses so far, she will add them to my record and I can continue the record through her. This means that if I can hopefully lose 2lb again this week it will take me to my 10%! I must confess if I do manage it, I will probably shed a little tear.
This week I am on my own at work. My manager is away on holiday so it is just me in our little corner of the world. It is weird and by the second week I really miss her, the bonus is I do get to have my music louder than normal which is always good.
Coming up though is a very special weekend for us. Saturday is Em's birthday and I am making her a cake, she wants dolly mixtures on it, yes, my sister is going to be 33 but is secretly 7! In addition to this Sunday is Fathers Day, but more importantly than that, it is the day that K is Confirmed. I am so proud of my girl for making this decision to renew the promises made at her Christening. She has been going to lessons for the last month or so, exploring what it all means and how it is relevant to her. She has a lovely new blue dress to wear and she will look lovely. She came to the Pentecost service with me last week and realised that it is the last time she will have a Blessing at Communion, next time she will be taking part in the Supper herself. I remember how special my Confirmation felt to me at the time and I know she will feel really special too. We are going out for a family meal afterwards to celebrate with all of us being together. I can't wait.
