K came home from school yesterday with a form in her hand and a hopeful expression on her face. The school are running a trip to Germany in December and she wanted to go. After reading all the details it looks like it will be really good for her. She will be visiting Cologne, going to the Christmas Markets and the Cathedral and on a day trip to Aachen and things like that.
We are not a family who travel abroad much, and the last time we went was in 2003 when I took her to EuroDisney, so you can imagine her excitement.
How I am going to cope I don't know, it is bad enough when she goes away in this country, let along hundreds of miles away!!!! I know full well I will be a wreck when she goes early on that dark December morning and I will be lost for the 4 day she will be gone. I also know that this is another brick in her wall of independence and she will grow up a little more while she is there. I am not sure which is worse!
