I have had a couple of people comment in the last few days that you can start to see my weight loss. These have had me walking on air! Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing the scales count down and the graph on the Wii and on the tracker on WW show that steady line heading down to the right but to have people notice is just fabulous!
I notice little things myself, my feet are slipping in my shoes that I wear for work, I am starting to see the beginnings of cheekbones and I am pretty sure I have nearly lost one of my chins! I think the thing that is helping keep my weight loss steady is the increase in exercise. I now walk a lot more and at my 6th attempt I finally managed W1D1 of the C25K program without having to walk through one of the runs. I know running for 8 minutes in 60 second bursts sounds easy to most people but when you are over 18 stone it is bloody hard. I never believed it when people said they get a high from exercise but last night when I dragged my sweaty aching legs up the stairs to my front door I felt invincible!
K is cooking at school today, last week we had lovely fairy cakes with 2 inch thick butter icing and 6 cherries on each one! This week we have mini quiches with cheese, onion, ham and tomato. I can’t wait.....honest.

Well done! The recognition from friends must make you feel even more determined. Keep going!
Do you get a rest between your bursts? How does it work? Interested as I am stuck in a bit of a rut. Well done to you.
Thanks WM, it makes me feel ace!
Yes you do get a rest, you start off with a 5 minute brisk walk and then you run for 60 seconds and walk for 90, you repeat this section 7 more times and then walk for 5 minutes again. Once you have done that 3 times you then go on to the next week which increases the running time http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/get-running-with-couch-to-5k.aspx that is the address for the program on the NHS
well done on the running/ walking you are doing really well. I need to follow your lead, I'm not sticking to WW or runnning at the moment
