I promise that I will do my best
To love my God
To serve the Queen and my Country
To help other people and to keep the Guide Law

Proud mum moment again

Back in March, my lovely K started going to Sea Cadets. I wanted her to have an interest that was outside of Guiding as I did not want her to feel that I was 'making' her go to Guides because I am a leader. We looked around and searched the web and I came up with the idea of the cadets, we decided that because she loved water activities like canoeing, rowing and kayaking that we would try Sea Cadets.

She absolutely loves it! She loves the camaraderie with her new friends and all her instructors are apparently 'ace'. Last night she was given her uniform. This is called her 'working rig' or 'number 4s'. Once she has completed her recruit training in a few weeks she will be given the coveted beret and another uniform which is called her 'blues' with the sailors collar, lanyard and all that sort of thing.

She has also been given a pair of cadet boots. G (who is in the TA) is going to help her learn how to clean them so she can look after them properly. With her boots on she stands a good 3 inches taller than me! Anyway, here she is in all her glory.
