K and I have had such fun this weekend. We have been cooking and making sweets. First of all, Friday night, I made my first ever loaf of bread and a stollen for Alan. The loaf turned out pretty okay and was not bad for a first effort.
The picture is a bit rubbish as it was taken on my mobile but you get the Gist. The stollen worked well too, Al said it was lovely, he even took a whole load home with him.
Saturday dawned and after K had been to her BYU we donned our aprons and away we went. we made orange and lemon creams, sweethearts, a big fruit cake and coconut mice. I must say there is probably more sugar in these than is truly necessary but once in a while who cares! It was just so lovely, just me and K, both having fun and laughing. I am lucky that my daughter is such fun to be with. Her sense of humour is refreshing and she has the best laugh.
This morning I have made another loaf of bread, some shortbread for dad and the Yorkshire pudding batter for dinner tonight. I am turning into a right little Delia!
One thing confused me though, when I was little and did cooking with mum, I would help make the mixture, help put it in the oven, lick the spoon and go away, when I came back into the kitchen, it was all cleaned and washed up with not a speck of anything left. I want to know how I get a cleaning fairy like that!

LOL if you find that cleaning fairy, please send her my way ;-)
It must smell delicious at your house!
Yumm fresh bread, I'm hungry now! Glad you had such a fun time doing it.
Yumm - what inspired your breadmaking?
Our house did indeed smell delicious. As for the inspiration....K sked if we could so I thought it would be something fun to do.
I need a cleaning fairy too!
I did laugh at your cleaning fairy! I'm glad I didn't read this last night as I was desperate for something naughty to eat and this would have pushed me over the edge! I've just had some toast so I'm ok at the mo! Keep going, Delia!
We need a cleaning fairy, too. Glad you were enjoying yourself though. I've bought Easter cookie cutters to make biscuits with my daughter after we break up for Easter. Love baking!
Sounds like you had fun, I could do with a cleaning fairy as well, we do have an ice cream fairy who only delivers treats in exchange for good behaviour. I am baking birthday cakes this weekend, hope they arrive as successfully as your treats.
